Young Welsh racing driver from Anglesey, Championship winner Alexander Jones has had considerable success on the British/European racing scene. He is now looking to compete in the Indy Lights series for 2012 with the goal of moving on and becoming Indy Car series champion.

Alex’s career has followed the traditional route taken by many successful racing drivers starting with kart racing in 2004, winning several championships at club and national level. In only his second season of racing he won the prestigious British TKM “O” plate Championship 2006.

Alex made his British Formula Ford Championship debut at the end of 2007 winning 2 of his first 4 races and went on to finish 3rd overall in the Scholarship class in 2008 with 6 wins, 9 fast laps and 13 pole positions.

In 2009 he competed in the main BFF Championship, achieving pole, fastest laps, and podium positions and winning ‘North West Sporting Champion for 2009′.

In 2010 Alex completed tests in British and Italian Formula 3 showcasing his driving ability and technical feedback and impressing the team owners and peers at the tests.

Following impressive Indy Lights tests earlier in the year he made his debut at Long Beach in April putting in a very competitive performance with John and his team and has since been working to source the budget to continue in the 2012 Firestone Indy Lights Championship.

Alex is recognized by teams and professionals as having a big future in motor racing with the driving ability, technical knowledge, and dedication necessary to reach the top echelons of motorsport.
