With no major races the past weekend and some commitments on Sunday afternoon. I went in search of some leg speed. A National B crit at Salt Ayre on Saturday afternoon and a local race at Marsh Tracks on Sunday morning.
Both were HARD but I was pleased to come away with 9th on Saturday and then to hit Sunday hard, make the break and stay away for 4th. With the winter injuries and being a little behind my competitors in terms of my development I seem to have great strength at the end of the races, so to hit these crits hard is good training for me. At 65kg and at home in the hills, I am not going to be a crit monster but I do enjoy them!
I must say the new Shark Aero Road is a bit of a animal and great for these crit races.
